Mountains, Moms & Massages

There is a quote I found recently and it is this "You are my people. This is where life is lived. These are the moments, the people, that make life worth living. These are the people who make life beautiful. These are my people. This is my tribe." I truly believe that the people you surround yourself with should make life more enjoyable. I am lucky to have found my tribe early on in life and even more grateful to have been able to spend this past weekend with a few of them!

Being a MOM (parenting) can be a tough job and that's on top of the every day pressure to keep up in your job, your business, on top of your bills, the house, and the million other little things that are running through your mental to do list (feed dog, clip toddlers nails, shave your damn legs, oh and don't forget to buy milk, take out the garbage and that list goes on and on). Frankly it's just dang exhausting. I have my fair share of tough days (as I'm sure we all do) and I have come to realize the importance of surrounding yourself with people that get you, support you and really with whom you can just be 100% yourself around, no FILTER. When I get in a slump, I stop and reflect on everything that I am thankful for because honestly, there are a million things! Things can always be worse. Always harder! Reflection makes me realize how extremely grateful I am for all that I have and for my family, my friends and my community. In addition to this, self care is important for everyone but I especially know that for me it is not a nice to have it is a must for my mental well-being and I am not alone as I believe my girlfriends from this weekend agree. The girls and I went to the MOUNTAINS. We spent 2 fabulous nights in Canmore. We ate, drank, caught up, vented, laughed until our stomachs hurt, belted out to our favourite songs, slept in (so magical) and we went to the spa and treated ourselves to facials and MASSAGES. We really just soaked in the gift of our friendship and how fortunate we are to still be hanging out after 28 years of knowing one another. We relished in not having to take care of anyone else but ourselves for a couple days. Our husbands held down the fort and gave us this wonderful weekend to just be us (not a wife and a mother) but just ourselves. I had an opportunity to miss my family. Weekends like this allow me to show up better as a wife, a mother and as a business owner. So here is to Mountains, Moms & Massages. May you always find time for your mountains, your tribe and some relaxation. RESET BUTTON PUSHED. Now I am off to crush MONDAY! Here's to an awesome week and warm wishes for your November, Diandra
